This approach employs recombinant DNA engineering to design polypeptide sequences encoding the core functional domains of botulinum toxin (BoNT). Utilizing the native secretory pathway of Escherichia coli expression systems, we achieve precise biosynthesis of the target neurotoxin. Distinct from traditional Clostridium botulinumfermented BoNT complexes, the recombinant product exhibits a truncated molecular weight of 150 kDa (approximately 1/6th of the 900 kDa neurotoxin complex in BOTOX®). This molecular optimization enables rapid transdermal penetration with accelerated pharmacodynamic onse.
